Welcome to my new blog!

Hello there and welcome to the iCC blog. Here I will keep up to date with any new work that has been posted to the site, plus anything else I want to write/type about, lol. Like today for instance, I had fruit, yogurt and granola for breakfast :D. I did some web updating for a client of mine which I will be posting new work soon. Anything that comes to my sporadic mind I will let you know.

This week I will be working on some of my illustrations and some anatomy studies. I will share my studies with you in another post.

Doing these types of drawing exercises are very important if you want to become an illustrator/artist, among other things. "Practice is key!" Being a freelancer you are sometimes bogged down with so much work that you have no time for your own work. Dedication is another key point. Even if it's 15-20mins out of your day, do some doodling to keep your creative mind fresh.

Another good tip, try to carry with you a small note book or sketch book that you can write or draw any ideas that come to mind so you don't forget. What I like to do is have pictures for reference and inspiration. If I see something in a magazine for example, a technique, a certain texture or colour, etc, I'll rip it out and jot down some notes of why I picked it.

I have anatomy books from when I was in college and I still use them to this day. They have great detail and step-by-step illustration that can help you learn and understand the full human body.

Here are the top three I like to use,

Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist
Drawing the Head and Figure
Drawing Figures

Do you have any favorites you like to use? If you would like to add your favorite anatomy books please comment below.

Thanks for reading!
